Who is Rashard Baylor

Luke 11:46-52

Rashard Steven Davis Baylor was born on June 19, 1988, at St. Joseph

Hospital to Andrea L. Baylor and Craig S. Davis. Rashard is a native

Houstonian, born and raised on the Southside of Houston in South Park.

As a kid, he attended J.N. Dodson Elementary school in Third Ward,

Francis Scott Key middle school in Trinity Gardens, and Evan E. Worthing

senior high school in Sunnyside. Upon graduating high school, Rashard

attended Texas Southern University for one year, then he enlisted in

the United States Navy to serve our country as a Machinist Mate

onboard the USS Henry Jackson Gold SSBN 730. During his naval tenure,

he deployed on four strategic nuclear deterrence patrols. His leadership

and hard work ethic awarded him the position of ship's damage control

petty. He was trusted to maintain all the ship's damage control response

equipment in the event of a casualty while supervising a division of 15

sailors. He led the program from a below-average program to an

above-average as noted by Submarine Squadron 17 (SUBRON 17) and

Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC). His ship

was awarded the red DC for the best damage control program on the

waterfront. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 2013 and

returned to work in Texas's oil fields.

Since then, Rashard has worked hard as a blue-collar Texan. He has worked in the oil field, chemical plants, and the Texas Medical Center as a plumber and mechanical technician. In 2017, he reenlisted in the Texas Army National Guard. He was deployed to the South West Texas border to support Operation Guardian Support to impede and deny illegal border crossings, maintain situational awareness, and apply the appropriate time-bound response and law enforcement resolution to increase security and achieve operational control of our Texas borders.

Rashard is married to Ashley Morgan, a middle school educator. He has two beautiful daughters Carlie and Harper. Rashard is committed to the South Side of Houston and has joined several organizations that are committed to philanthropy. Rashard is a member of the Historical Divine Nines Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas, Elks Lodge 151, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and BLEXIT Texas.
